What is the most important thing in your life?
I already know the answer. Some people might say money, but that's not true. Others might say family - sorry, wrong again. You might guess adventure and travel, or solitude in the mountains. Perhaps its the power you feel from watching your company grow. All wrong. The most important thing to you is time.
People seek more money to try and buy time. Without time, you can't be with the family that you cherish. Without time, there's no adventure, travel, solitude, or the ability to grow your company. Without time, you have nothing.
You need time, and how you spend your it is the only question that really matters in thi
s life. So let me ask you this - how much of your precious time do you agonize over bookkeeping problems in your business? How much time do you sacrifice for creating invoices, paying bills, entering and reconciling bank data, trying to fix bad bookkeeper errors, slogging through partially correct reports and more?
If none of that existed in your life, what would you do with all that time? I'm here today to sell you on the concept of using outsourced accounting services. Obviously its what we do and in full transparency, we want to help you get that time back.
So with that disclaimer on the table, here are 4.5 ways we'll help you save time:
This may only take you one hour a week. It may take you 10 hours. Regardless of whether your company has just a few transactions a day or thousands, we've found that small businesses have good intentions of doing this, but for whatever reason it falls on the back burner. Most companies are at least one week behind which leads to inaccurate reports and tons of wasted time.
If you work with an outsourced accounting service that's an expert in your industry and software, you'll end up with an efficient accounting system that only relies on you for authorizations. Your team should do all the work and present it for your review and authorization. This kind of system keeps you connected without bogging you down.
Employees don't always act in the best interest of your company. How often have inter-company rumors, pet peeves, and HR issues been brought to your desk? An employee may feel that they should be paid more, especially when compared to what someone else on the team makes. You may not share wage information, but I can guarantee that your staff does. When you use an outsourced accounting service, all of that drama goes away. This, in my mind at lest, counts for 1.5 on the benefits scale. Since drama wastes your time and is an emotional drain on you and your company.
With an extra five to ten hours a week, you'll be able to reclaim your business, your customers, and most importantly, your family. You may not spend that much time doing accounting tasks in your day, but I would argue that an insufficient accounting system leads to poor reports, bad relationships with customers and vendors, and paperwork that needs to be redone. All of that does add up, so I ask you again - what will you do with your time?
